We had a great evening and meal at Splashes. Everyone knows about the view,  but the food was what set it over the top.

Chef Ron Fougeray has put together and excellent menu and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening. Our server Patrick went out of his way to take care of us and was attentive but in no way overbearing.

I don't know if I'll remember everything but our group had the Halibut, Bronzino and the lamb chops which were good. For starters we had a few of the salads and the shishito peppers. Dessert was the Chocolate PB bar and the strawberry shortcake.

The wine list was very good and the Brooklyn (don't remember the exact name) cocktail was clever.

We would be happy to return again and see what Chef has next time.

Fancy. Expensive. Okay food. Nothing to write home about. This place was recommended from someone who lives in the area. Must have thought since we were in on business that the type of restaurant was what we wanted.

Yes and no. Yes for the view and the ocean. It's great. And loud. You are right there. It's cool.

Food wise.... meh. The vegan got the cauliflower steak and couldn't eat it because it was barely cooked. Now she could eat it but didn't because it would have been really good if cooked properly. I got the beef short ribs. They were okay.

Our server was nice and attentive. But not impressed a whole lotta cash for just average to just okay food. You have to valet. And I just left feeling kinda ripped off. Maybe I'm too Midwest to see the value in this place... but last time I will go here.

This place has an amazing ocean view. I recommend to come here sunset time. It's amazing ! I went to the Bar and there's limited seats. I had a craft beer and half dozen oysters. Sunset ocean view is amazing beautiful. Craft beer I chose is my favorite flavor. Sunset makes everything perfect.

Except, other customers who don't get seats. They stand right next me and gave me pressure to leave. I'm a single customer. Usually I enjoyed my beer for 20 minutes and leave. They ruined my precious moment.

We went to Splashes as a late Mother's Day brunch. Very late. Like June late. However, Splashes treated us, more importantly, my mother, as if it was Mother's Day.

Restaurant: Splashes is inside of the Surf and Sand Resort on the 5th floor. Very small restaurant. I was quite surprised by its quaintness. Indoor seating near a window wasn't available so we took outdoor seating. I wanted my mother to experience the beach view. Oh, boy did we as the mini video will indicate. What I didn't realize until after our brunch, no matter where you sit inside Splashes, the view is perfect. It's that small, the windows are that big and the beach is that close. If you choose to sit outside, it's a very small balcony-like seating area. The heat lamps are way too big for the space given and the chairs are too close to the next table for someone of average size. Skinny Minnies fit well, though.

Food: Well, pricey was to be expected so expect it. Did we get what we paid for? In most cases, yes. After being seated, our waiter brought chips, salsa, bread and butter. I liked the bread, butter, and salsa combo. The salsa was like none other I've tasted. I'm not a salsa fan. This was DELISH! Mom ordered the Crisp Octopus and Fried Chicken & Waffles. She loved the octopus. LOVED! However, it seemed like a very small serving for the price until I learned how much of a delicacy it is and how expensive it is for the restaurant to purchase. She wasn't a fan of the gravy-like substance that came on the chicken and waffles. I ordered the Shortrib Skillet and Bananas Foster French Toast they no longer have. Loved them both!

Service: Every waiter, waitress, and busboy were wonderful. The first hostess was a little stiff yet she loosened up by the time we left. Both hostesses were friendly, overall.

Odds & Ends: We parked at a meter on the street for 2 hours. Surf and Sand has valet parking at a price. Enter the resort and the concierge desk will guide you. There isn't much to do at Surf and Sand Resort if you aren't a guest after leaving Splashes so Mom and I took the trolley to Main Beach and enjoyed the boardwalk. The trolley is free and comes every 10 - 20 minutes roughly. I will return! You may catch a whale or dolphin in the ocean while enjoying your meal. :-)

Great meal, incredible view, and over the top service. We celebrated our 16th wedding anniversary at Splashes and you would have thought we were celebrities.
    Highly recommend!
